The St. Lucy Food Drive will continue on March 8-9 (bags in BEFORE ALL Masses). We will need a lot of hands for this as usual. Our GK spoke after the 5 pm Vigil Mass on February 8 for the Bishop’s Lenten Appeal and mentioned the food drive.
This past weekend, Council 459 handed out 800 bags for the St. Lucy Food Drive; Keith had to actually go to the Catholic Charities in Manassas to pick up an extra hundred bags because we were running low after the 1 pm Mass! Needless to say, it was a smashing success. The Council appreciates how everyone helped out with bag distribution, including some of our newest Knights. It is a team effort and definitely would not have been as successful if we did not have as many brothers helping out.
This coming weekend (March 8-9), we will be collecting bags BEFORE each Mass. These bags can be very heavy so we will need a lot of strength and manpower. Please show up half an hour before Mass to help with the collection of bags.
