Chaplain’s Report
- “Be Aware” 10.23.2023
Father James Serby on his podcast “Holiness for the Working Day.”
Holiness for the Working Day
America seems divided between those who want objective truth to serve as the basis for communication and those who believe that with position and power comes the right to decide what the truth is, and to substitute a “narrative,” if that is deemed, by individuals, necessary to maintain their status.
The polarization of American may be attributed, in part, to the betrayal of trust to the point of exploitation. Americans have been inundated with feelings masquerading as objective truth by influential institutions, the government, medical/pharmaceutical profession, justice system, educational system, media and entertainment industry. Independent thought, belief in objective truth in what is seen and faith in what may not be seen, present a proven approach to making it through this life and on to the next. Vigilance, careful discernment, and prayer assist us in making informed decisions based on reality.
