The call for membership renewal was issued through the website and email. The 2nd notice was sent by hardcopy mail in February. 459 would prefer to move to all electronic notices to avoid the high cost and effort of a traditional mailing. Members are encouraged to remit their dues timely in support of efficient 459 operations.

We thank you for your continued membership in Fitzgerald Council 459. It is time to renew your membership for the 2024 calendar year. Payments may be made quickly and easily at the following link 459 2024 Dues or using the QR code at the bottom left of the Council 459 homepage. The membership payment is $62.00 which includes a Virginia State per capita assessment and a $2.00 transaction fee. These funds help offset the Council annual costs of operation and cover the Supreme and Virginia State Knights of Columbus costs. In 2025, Fitzgerald Council 459 will commemorate 125 years of service in providing for the less fortunate, mutual support in conformance with our Catholic faith and brotherliness in Alexandria, Virginia. The Council values each of our members and counts on their dues to offset operational costs and their volunteer time to enable us to continue to support our parish community. We hope that you have found your membership in Council 459 meaningful in living your faith. Society, today, seems to discourage or undermine men in their role as leaders, providers, and protectors of their families. Council 459 seeks to foster an increased sense of meaning and a offers an opportunity for brothers to support each other in living a faithful family life in close connection with our community. The Knights of Columbus recognizes that our nation is plagued by corruption, violence, social upheaval, and division. The Knights must answer the call for the conversion of hearts and by the grace of God lead positive social change in support of the family.
The Knights call to charity, unity and fraternity informs our programs which provide material and moral support to families, the church, and our community. We ask you to prayerfully consider participating in and support of any of our programs – even a few hours over the year would lighten the load and make it easier for us to efficiently serve our parish and the community.
Council 459, in the past few months, completed a St. Lucy food drive to support Catholic Charities, conducted a winter coat drive to support the less fortunate and later this week will support Christmas dinner for sixty families in Alexandria. The Council is also sponsoring three seminarians this year. We have, in coordination with the Rosary Society of the Basilica of Saint Mary, hosted weekly Rosaries, fifth Sunday Rosary and third Sunday Vespers to assist the faithful in growing in their love of our Lord, the Blessed Mother, the Rosary, and the Catholic Church.
Council 459 is active in supporting faith, family community and life programs and activities within our parish and in support of broader Diocese and reginal challenges in coordination with the Virginia State Council. The Council expects active Knights to support our activities by volunteering at least 12 hours a year if you are able. This may include leading and/or supporting an activity or multiple activities over the calendar year based on your interests and talents.
If you have a hardship that might prevent you from paying your dues this year, please reach out to me privately and the Council will help you out, in confidence. Similarly, if you are interested in paying dues for another Brother, you may do so at the link above adding an additional item/payment and noting their name in the optional field.
Your renewal of membership allows our Council to continue to support our parishes and the larger community. Critically, the funds we develop through membership renewals support all the excellent work done by the Council. That means that we are changing lives and improving our Catholic community – Exactly what the Knights of Columbus pillars of Faith, Family, Community, and Life are all about.
